dana joy cohenDana Cohen is a qualified and devoted clinician working in the substance abuse field. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychological and Behavioral Sciences from Penn State University, a Masters degree in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University, and a second Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from La Salle University. With more than decade of experience, Dana was a dedicated employee at the Livengrin Foundation in lower Bucks County, PA. She started her work in the admissions department as an Assessment counselor and within five years she moved into the family department. It was from interacting with the families in the waiting room that she discovered a true passion to work with families affected by the disease of chemical dependency.

Her work included: facilitation of the family education program called the “Day of Enlightenment”, leading support groups, and conducting family and couples therapy. Recently, Dana has joined a team of clinicians at the Growth Opportunity Center in Southampton, PA where she meets with clients individually and works with families and couples for either private sessions or group therapy. In the Fall of 2018, Dana reconnected with Penn State Abington as an instructor in their continuing education program for those seeking to become a Certified Family Recovery Specialist.

Dana engages in various speaking commitments to local colleges, hospitals, and companies, and has been on the forefront in developing educational seminars to members of our community. She provides clinical trainings to staff and other agencies on family systems theory and has presented at various state and nationwide conferences throughout her career. Cohen is an educator, a therapist, innovator and advocate for families.
